Rineke Dijkstra

From 1992 to 1996, Rineke Dijkstra began a series of work in which her aim was to capture the innocence and dreaminess of pubescent youngsters. The conceptual approach to the artists 'beach portraits' is to photograph the teenagers as she discovers them, this way, nothing is staged. A direct and natural focus towards the camera is done by using a flash during daylight. Dijkstra allows the subjects of her work to choose the pose and expression they wish to convey, this way the audience is presented with  the individuals testimony to themselves of how they wish to be portrayed, an insight into how, they themselves view their image.

This one is my favourite, the colours are so beautiful.

I think her works look like more simplistic re-makes of Botticelli pieces
